Maria is also committed to protecting women and children from exploitation and human trafficking. She believes every available tool should be used to identify predators, support victims, and hold offenders accountable. The safety of our children must always be a top priority.

In addition, Maria supports practical traffic safety solutions. Reckless driving, distracted driving, excessive speeding, and impaired driving continue to threaten lives throughout our region. She supports data-driven traffic calming measures, safer road design, and collaboration between local governments, transportation agencies, law enforcement, and residents to make streets safer for everyone.

Public safety is about more than responding to crime after it occurs. It is about preventing crime before it happens, supporting families, investing in communities, and ensuring that every resident can live, work, and raise a family without fear.
